J'son McNiel

J’son Paul “Jake” McNiel, age 31, of Roosevelt, passed away on February 10, 2026 at the Uintah Basin Medical Center after being diagnosed with cancer. 

He was born November 13, 1994 in Price, Utah to Jason Paul and Katrina Ann Stine McNiel. He married Yvonne Clark on January 9, 2018. J’son was faced with adversity at a young age. He was a rebel and refused to let anyone dictate to him how life would be.

He was a very determined man who accomplished a lot in his few years. He lived for off roading and he loved to drive his 4×4 in the mud after a rainy day.

He loved anything river, fishing, rafting, boating, and just spending time near them. He enjoyed music and some even called him “iPod”, because he could tell you who the artist was with all genre of music.

Yvonne had four children, which he immediately claimed as his own and he delighted in his 4 grandchildren. He was a good dad and wonderful pawpaw.

He was diagnosed with Cancer. Osteosarcoma of the sphenoid. Returning to his home state to be with loved ones he hadn't seen in 15 years

He is survived by his wife, Yvonne McNiel, children, Deanna (Kyle) Rogers, Buddy (Stevi) Mogg, David Pingree, John Pingree, grandchildren, Penelope, Adelaide, Eli, Hazel and father Jason McNiel, sister Tabytha (Israel) Williams, Aunts, Uncles and cousins and Grama. He is preceded in death by his mom,

Katrina McNiel, and grandparents, Paul and Norma McNiel.His wishes were to be cremated and remain with his wife and sister.
