Jose Solis Garcia

Jose Ascension Solis Garcia, age 71, of Rock Springs, Wyoming, passed away September 25, 2021, at the University of Utah Hospital from complications of COVID.
He was born May 18, 1950, in Jalisco, Mexico, to Andres Solis Gavia and Carmen Garcia Beltran. He married Connie Solis, and they later divorced.
Jose immigrated to the United States when he was about 27 years old and worked as a derrick hand in the oil field for several years. He really enjoyed fishing, singing, and playing keyboard. He took excellent care of his family and was a good dad and grandpa.
Jose is survived by his daughters, Carmen Solis, Veronica (Davie) Montes, both of Roosevelt; Olivia (Rolando) Solis-Llamas, Rock Springs, Melanie Henderson; grandchildren, Kaleb & Cason Gilbert; Alicia Solis, Ariana Llamas; and siblings, Maria Socorro Garcia, Delfina Garcia, and Barbara Garcia.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Carmen; and his siblings, Nasario Solis Garcia, Maria Cristina Solis Garcia, Jose de Jesus Garcia.
There will be a viewing and visitation on Wednesday, September 29, 2021, from 3-5 p.m. at the Hullinger Mortuary. Following the visitation, he will be cremated and then taken to Mexico to be interred.
