Listen to Obituary

Jolene Kay Deherrera a.k.a. "Joli" or "JoJo" age 37, of Denver, Colorado, passed away on November 10, 2025, surrounded by love.

She was born in Grand Junction, Colorado, to her parents, James Hudlin and Vicki Derby.

She was a loving mother, daughter, and friend – known for her kind heart, her level-headed wisdom, and her fiery passion for the people she loved. If you were lucky enough to be in her life, you knew that she would stand up for you, protect you, and love you with everything she had.

She spent 14 years with her longtime partner, Miguel Kyle Madriz-Rubio, and together they raised three children who were her greatest pride and joy: Nevaeh (20), Kyler (17), and Aliaz (15). Her family was her world, and she poured her heart into making sure they always knew how deeply they were loved.

Over the past seven months, she had been on a journey of healing and rediscovery. During that time, she met many wonderful people who became like family. Her humor, her courage, and her ability to make others laugh will never be forgotten.

She was funny, beautiful, and radiant – a true beacon of light. Her favorite saying was, “you ain’t shit,” and though it always made people laugh, it carried her trademark blend of honesty, humor, and tough love. That phrase, like her, was full of life and impossible to forget.

She will be deeply missed by her children, parents, loved ones, and all who were touched by her warmth and strength. Her laughter, her love, and her unforgettable spirit will live on in the hearts of everyone who knew her.

She is deeply missed yet forever in our hearts

Long Live Jolene, she’ll never be forgotten.
