John Kijek, Jr

John Adam Kijek, Jr. age 61, of Roosevelt, Utah died Wednesday, 29 July 2015 from complications of Alzheimer's disease.
He was born 12 October 1953 in Wausau, Wisconsin, the second child and first son of Genevieve Hahn and John Roy Kijek. He was a working teenager, always had a job, and moonlighted playing accordion in a polka band with his brothers. He served in the US Navy during the Vietnam years as an electronics technician.
He married Maureen Duke in the Provo Temple 14 May 1977. They are the parents of Adam (Hilary), Heather (Scott Richman), Matthew, Andrea (Michael DeHart), Maren (Brian Naylor), Spencer (Anna), Trevor, Kelly (Clint Johnson), Kimberly (Matthew Eddington), Sabrina (Clay Wilkerson), and Tabitha.
John earned a Masters of Business degree from the University of Wisconsin when there were six children at home and always worked hard to support his family. He also earned a black belt in Hwa Rang Do and kept a photo of himself, his brothers, cousins and son in martial arts uniforms near the front door, thus intimidating some of his daughters' dates without speaking a word.
John was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served faithfully in many callings. One of his favorites was as an ordinance worker in the Vernal Temple.
He is survived by his wife, children, mother Genevieve (Ed LeSieur), siblings Jean (Bruce Borchardt), Kevin (Pamela), James, and David (Wendy), and brother-in-law Chet Osowski, and 18 grandchildren.
John is preceded in death by his father, sister Carol, step-father Reynold Feltz and grandparents John and Rozalia Kijek and Edward and Angeline Hahn.
Funeral services held on Friday, August 7, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Roosevelt West Stake Center. Viewings will be held on Thursday evening at the Hullinger Mortuary form 6 - 8 p.m . and Friday at the church 1 hour prior to the service.
Burial in the Bluebell Cemetery with military honors presented by the
Roosevelt American Legion and the Utah National Guard.
