John Leslie Grover

John Leslie Grover, age 68, of Roosevelt, passed away December 5, 2023, at his
    He was born November 8, 1955, in San Francisco, California, to Jacqueline Grover.
    He served in the United States Army, which took him all over the world.
    John was a truck driver in the oil field for over twenty years who valued safety and passed the five million safe mile mark over the course of his career.  John spent the last forty years of his life dedicated to serving the community through Alcoholics Anonymous, and much of his time after retirement was spent at the House of Hope in Ioka. He has always been an insightful mentor with an intense craving for knowledge. He had celebrated 39 years of sobriety in April of this year and he loved sharing his stories, insights, and undying devotion to his sponsees. Aside from recovery work, he also enjoyed the study of astronomy and planetary sciences. 
    He was a loving and devoted father and grandfather who taught his family the true meaning of unconditional love and acceptance.
    John was preceded in death by his mother, Jacqueline and is survived by his children; Matthew Grover, King of Prussia, Pennsylvania; Caitlyn (Lyle) Rogers, Ballard; Aaron (Darlene) Grover, Myton; Tayamarie (Marshall) Robbinson-Grover, Salt Lake City; grandchildren, Vincent, Lucas, Norman, Lanaura, and Alice.
    Per John's wishes, he was cremated and will have a memorial service on January 6, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at the American Legion Hall, 375 N Center Street, Myton. A potluck will be held following the service.
