Johanna Bowen

    Johanna Vallinga Bowen, age 91, of Roosevelt passed away September 11, 2024.
    She was born June 19, 1933 in Patterson, New Jersey to Pieter and Lillian Roylance Vellinga.
    Johanna was called Mom and Grandma, she loved her children and grandchildren above all else.
    Johanna was known to love travel and adventure, especially with her loved ones. She also enjoyed playing card games with her girlfriends, shopping, reading, crafting, and her dangling earrings. She was very wise and if she had something to say, she would say it. She will be forever loved and missed by all who knew her.
    She is greeted in heaven by her parents Pieter and Lillian Vallinga; husband, Fred Bowen; her sisters, Winnona Dagsen, Beth Nelson; brother, Jack Vallinga; children, Laura Owens, Theodore Elarbee; and grandchildren, David Owens and Wayne Bradford.
    She is survived by her sister, Bonnie Adams; her children, Kenny Bowen, Daniel Bowen, Cindy Williams, Theresa Barr, and Marlaina Johnson. Her 10 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
