Jared Kyle Dye, 49 of Anchorage, died unexpectedly, Thursday, Nov. 23, 2023 in his home. He was a beloved Husband, Father, Son, Brother, Uncle, Grandfather, and Friend to many.
Jared was born in Roosevelt, Utah, on September 10, 1974, to Kyle and Chris Dye. He was the first of five boys born to the Dyes. He grew up on a ranch in Neola, where getting into mischief was easy to get into with a house full of boys. Jared was an Eagle Scout and loved Scouting. He loved the Church and serving all those he came in contact with. He had a great sense of humor and lived an adventurous life, and his charismatic smile and magnetic personality gained him many friends.
After graduating from Union High School, he had three beautiful children, Jaesee, Kannen, and Rushton with his former wife, Brittni Hyder. Jared became intrigued with mortician services because of his close friend Roger Hullinger. Soon after, he attended Arapahoe Community College, and obtained his mortuary science degree.
In 2006, he purchased what is now known as Legacy Funeral Homes and moved his family to Alaska. Jared compassionately served the Alaska communities as a funeral director and embalmer as the Owner of Legacy Funeral Homes for 17 years. He helped countless families in their darkest of days when they lost a loved one. The lives he touched are unmeasurable and he will be mourned across the great state of Alaska.
Jared met the love of his life, Kylene Napoleon, and they married May 5, 2012 in Anchorage. Shortly after, they moved to Fairbanks where they welcomed their children Jared Kyle Ulran Dye II and Qaayah Jonelia Dye. Sadly, Kylene passed away December 2021 when Qaayah was only 2 months old. In 2019, Jared ventured into a side business, and operated J.K. Dye Towing and Recovery. He had a passion for trucking, and held a commercial drivers license for nearly 30 years. His time spent in the drivers seat with his family and friends, brought him great joy and excited him. As his funeral business grew, Jared relocated to Anchorage in 2022.
Jared had a great love of fishing, subsistence hunting, berry picking, and native arts craft making; he did these things with his family often, and loved to share the Alaskan way of life with all. His smile will be missed here on earth, but we are sure he opened the doors of Heaven, smiled and said, “Hey, I’m here!”
His loving and compassionate spirit will be greatly missed by many, and his Legacy will be in our hearts forever.
Jared is survived by his children, Jaesee (Chase) Geddes, and grandchildren, Eva Mae and Dempsey of Grace, Idaho; Kannen Dye of Anchorage, Alaska, Rushton Dye of St. George, Utah; Jared K. Dye II and Qaayah J. Dye of Anchorage, Alaska; Katie Ann Mann, Krysten Napoleon, and John “Cupa” Scott all of Alaska; parents, Kyle and Chris Dye, of Neola, Utah; brothers, Jackson (Valerie) Dye of Gilbert, Arizona; Josh (Fiona) Dye of Williston, North Dakota; Jordy (Nichole) Dye of Neola, Utah; Jace Dye of Neola, Utah; and his adoptive brother, Sione (Alicia) Kaufusi of Roosevelt, Utah; mother-in-law, Rose Beth Napoleon of Kenai Penninsula, Alaska; brothers-in-law, Charles Napoleon of Alaska and Jordan Napoleon of Alaska; he also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and cousins that he loved dearly.
Jared was preceded in death by his wife, Kylene Napoleon Dye; grandparents, Deloss and Eva Dye, Gene and Beulah Nyberg; and uncles, Gary and Kendall; father-in-law, Henry Napoleon;  brother -in-law, Kenan Napoleon and Christian Napoleon; and sister-in-law, Jonelia Napoleon.
