Jana Rasmussen

Jana Rasmussen, age 50, of Myton, passed away peacefully on Wednesday December 02, 2015, surrounded by family who loved her, at the University of Utah Hospital. She fought a good fight, and is now free of pain and at peace.
She was born in Roosevelt, to Jack Clifton Rasmussen & Anona Mae Shelton on Sept. 18, 1965.
Jana loved spending time with her family, especially her five children and seven grandchildren. She loved arranging flowers, driving fast cars, eating Jolly Ranchers & pomegranates, and watching funny movies & TV shows. She was small in stature and big in spunk. She could often be found laughing at a good joke, road tripping, stashing candy in a drawer, or dreaming of her next big adventure.
She was full of life, and had a fun, contagious charisma. She loved a great rock song and over the years was a keeper of many pets. Most recently she adored her loyal dog, D.O.G., and her cuddly cat Mean Peaches.
People will remember her for her fun spirit, her mischievous grin, and twinkle in her eye. She was headstrong and just plain strong! She was a beautiful daughter, sister, mother, grandmother & aunt, the life of the party, and the confidant of those she loved.
Despite losing the use of her legs due to a car accident in March of 2008, Jana "ran" circles around those she knew with her fast paced spirit. She loved the fast lane, and enjoyed shocking friends and family with her dare-devil dreams as often as she could.
Jana was a great friend and wanted to help others. At her death, she gave the gift of sight by donating her eyes. In a beautiful way, Jana's fun-loving look on life can now continue to be enjoyed here on earth as she enjoys comfort & fun in heaven, with her loved ones there. She will be greatly missed until we see her again!
She is survived by her children, Nicole (Mitch) Murray, Vernal; Nathan Rasmussen, Colby Sather, Chance Sather, all of Roosevelt; McKenzi (Riley) McMullin, Orem; 7 grandchildren; father, Jack (LaVerne) Ramsussen, Ballard; brothers & sisters, Larry (Kitty) Rasmussen, Roosevelt; Lynn (Becky) Rasmussen, Cedarview; RaNae (Mike) Boren, Roosevelt; Rick Rasmussen, Bennett; Jolene (Stan)Rasmussen, Ballard; Jennifer (John) Udy, Salt Lake City; Jason Rasmussen (Bambi Lindsay), Roosevelt; Curtis Evans, Ballard; Shelley Ulibarri, Taylorsville; Chris Groneman, Kaysville; and numerous nieces & nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Anona Shelton, brother, Lewis Rasmussen, an infant sister, Janae Rasmussen, and nephew Tyson Boren.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, December 7, 2015, at the Roosevelt West LDS Stake Center. There will be a viewing on Sunday at the Hullinger Mortuary from 6-8 p.m. and from 10-10: 45 a.m., Monday at the church.
Burial will be in the Roosevelt Memorial Park.
