James "Jim" Dale Nebeker

James Dale “Jim” Nebeker, age 81, of Roosevelt, passed away April 20, 2022, at his home surrounded by his family after a battle with cancer.
    He was born June 6, 1940, in Vernal, to Stanley and Mabel Mary Johnson Nebeker.  He married Loya Jeanne Lemon on January 20, 1962, in Roosevelt. 
    Jim owned and operated JN Trucking since 1987 and was still active on the job until his illness. His greatest passion was his family – especially his grandkids– who were the love of his life.  He enjoyed horse racing, rodeo, farming, hunting, and in his younger days, prospecting.  He was a major tease and fun to be around!  He liked people and had many life-long friends.  He would do anything for anyone and helped many people – usually anonymously.  
    He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  He is very loved and will be deeply missed.
    Jim is survived by his wife, Loya; children, Ron (Cathryn) Nebeker; Wendy (John) Hyder, all of Roosevelt; Chris (Lori) Nebeker, Cedarview; 9 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren with one on the way; a brother, Clark (Sue) Nebeker, of Vashon, Washington; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
    He was preceded in death by a daughter, Jeanne Lynn Nebeker; a son, John Nebeker; parents; and brothers Claude & Lynn Nebeker.
    Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 27, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at the Neola Chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  There will be a viewing on Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at the Hullinger Mortuary and from 10-10:45 a.m. Wednesday at the church.
    Burial will be in the Roosevelt Memorial Park.
