Gary Joseph DeLuca, age 69, of Roosevelt, passed away April 8, 2026, at the Utah Valley Hospital in Provo.
He was born August 29, 1956, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Mary McGhan and Joseph DeLuca. He was proud of his Italian heritage and consequently Spaghetti and Meatballs was his favorite food.
Gary had a passion for Harley Davidson Motorcycles and big trucks. Going to the local car shows was one of his favorite pastimes. He enjoyed going out for coffee with friends, watching the Patti Duke show, trying to tell jokes, and cooking or more like “pretending to cook” – he’d usually watch over your shoulder and then let everyone know what a great job he did.
He had a ritual of going to the library every single week for the last 20 years. He took part in many Special Olympics – competing in Track and Field – and his proudest moment was riding in the helicopter for the Opening Ceremonies. He also liked to go to Wendover, go on trips --especially his cruise to Mexico & Belize– and to Comicon – the last time he was so excited to have met Matthew Lillard.
Gary will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his friends and roommates at the North Eastern Services in Roosevelt.
He was preceded in death by his parent.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 15, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at the Hullinger Mortuary with a viewing one hour prior to the services.
Burial will be in the Roosevelt Memorial Park.
