Fred Tew

William Frederick "Fred" Tew (85) of Talmage, passed away on December 14, 2015 of age related complications. He was surrounded by many of his loved ones in St. George.
Fred was born February 17, 1930 to Burton Edwin and Leah Carolina Lundell Tew in Mapleton.
He had three brothers and three sisters. He went to Mapleton Elementary and graduated from Springville High School. Mapleton and the Springville area were always incredibly special places to him. He attended Brigham Young University.
Fred married Sandra Wadley Tew on May 6, 1966 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They were the parents of 10 children.
His lifetime was involved in farming and ranching. His main interests were dairy and quarter horses. His dream was to have a famous cutting horse some day. He was active in the Boy Scouts of America and had many civic responsibilities. He was involved in the Republican Party, served on the Duchesne County School Board and in the Farm Bureau both county and state boards.
He was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He faithfully served as Bishop, High Council member and president of many organizations for the Church. He was an ordinance worker for 10 years in the Vernal, Utah Temple. He loved the Gospel and the fellowship with other members of the church. There wasn't a hand he didn't want to shake or a smile he didn't want to share.
Survived by his wife of 49 years, Sandra Tew, Talmage; and his ten children: Valerie (Colin) Brinkerhoff, Pleasant Grove; William Frederick Jr (Tessie) Tew, Santaquin; Rebecca (Wade) Rhoades, St. George; Annette (Jason) Orton, Panguitch; Blaine (Leslie) Tew, Crestview, FL; Steven (Anne) Tew, Talmage; Paul (Jessica) Tew, Pleasant Grove; Deedra (Garrett) Wilkerson, Washington; Merri (Wes) Hackett, Saratoga Springs; Leandra (Jesse) Call, San Ramon, CA; 34 grandchildren, sister-in-law, Louise Tew, siblings, Norma Berntson, Carolyn McCandless, John (Gloria) Tew, and Thomas (Judy)Tew.
Preceded in death by his parents, step mother, Mary LeRoy Tew, a sister, Lynnette Tew and a brother, Burton Edwin Tew, Jr.
Funeral services held on Saturday, December 19, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at the Moon Lake LDS Chapel. Viewings will be held on Friday evening from 6 - 8 p.m. and Saturday 1 hour prior to service.
Interment, Evergreen Cemetery, Springville, Utah at 3:00 p.m.
