Florenda Keel Genereaux, age 65, of Roosevelt, passed away January 6, 2026, at her home from complications of a stroke.
She was born March 18, 1960, in Murray, Utah, to Lawrence and Vilate Seegmiller Keel. She married Nathan John Genereaux, Jr., on January 6, 1978, in Roosevelt.
Florenda was a seamstress for many years, working for her sister for the first 20 years and then for herself for the last years. She was also a waitress for the Bottle Hollow Resort when it was in business. She enjoyed playing softball, fishing, camping, and taking long car rides and road trips. In their younger days, she followed around her boys when they wrestled for high school. She had a love of the American Indian Culture, played handgame, and had a strong belief in Sundance Traditions. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
She was the family planner and made sure reunions, Christmas parties, and other gatherings for holidays took place. She loved her family, and her grandkids were the light of her world.
Florenda is survived by her husband of 48 years, Nathan, of Roosevelt; children, Lane (Kristin) Genereaux, Duchesne; Danyiel (Jeremy) Hunt, Cedarview; Chuck Genereaux (Asia Northern), Altamont; goddaughter, Myranda Hernandez (Chase Reed), Herriman; grandchildren, Madison Duncan; Scott, Skyler, & Lanee Meacham; Chase & Chance Hunt; Lexie & Acyx Genereaux, with one on the way; great-grandchildren, Rue O’brian, River White, Amirillo Hunt; siblings, Connie (Steven) Clayburn, Bridgeland; Glenda (Rick) Jeppsen, Roosevelt; John (Jackie) Keel, Neola; brothers- and sisters- in law, Cherry Keel, TX; Neldon Anderson, KS; Thelma (Mel) Sather, WY; Mary Kane, WY; Lela (Tony) Bell, WY; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Larry Keel & Cherylann Anderson; father- and mother-in-law, Nathan & Winona Genereaux; brother- and sister-in-law, Dillon, Sr. & Ellen Serawop, glenda & JT Trosper; and numerous other relatives.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Roosevelt East Stake Center (600 E 600 N). There will be a viewing on Monday from 6-8 p.m. at the Hullinger Mortuary and from 10-10:45 a.m. Tuesday at the church.
Burial will be in the Neola Cemetery.
