Fabian Parsanoo Jenks, age 64, of Randlett, passed away May 29, 2024.
He was born January 22, 1960, in Roosevelt, to Richard Jenks Sr. and Katherine Root Jenks. He was together with the love of his life, Alfonso Reyes, for eleven years and they finally tied the knot on November 7, 2023, in Salt Lake City.
Fabian had been on the Ute Indian Tribe Business Committee in the 80's and worked for the Tribe’s Senior Center. He was very well known for his beadwork, some of which is displayed at the University of Utah’s museum and was featured in an issue of “Cowboys & Indians.” He also beaded an entire Regalia for The Utah Opera. He was fluent and a teacher of the Ute Language. He enjoyed his traditional ways, attending Pow Wows and the Bear Dance. He was a performer with the Tribes of Utah at the 2002 Winter Olympic Games in Salt Lake City. He had a taste for the finer things in life, was proud of his well manicured yard, collected old photos of his family, and liked to cook – his potato salad was the best! He loved his family, near and far.
Fabian is survived by his husband, Alfonso, of Randlett; siblings, Richard Jenks, Jr, Sunshine Acres; Tammy John, Randlett; Margie (Richard) Whiteplume, Richardson Subdivsion; Angelyn and Duke Caren of Roosevelt; Grace Wyasket of Neola; Leilani and Evanie Wissiup of Ft. Duchesne; nieces and nephews, Elijah and Shawshene John; Jane and Alban John, of Roosevelt; Ian and Kaylynn John, of Randlett; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Katherine Jenks; siblings, Shane and Lyle Jenks; Melanie Wyasket, and his grandparents.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at the Hullinger Mortuary.
Burial will be in the Randlett Cemetery.
