Eseta Mate Maile, age 69, of Roosevelt, passed away December 27, 2025, at the Uintah Basin Sr. Villa.
She was born July 1, 1956, in Okoa’Vavau, Tonga, to Sione Mate and Akosita Vailea Kaufusi. She married Amoni Penrose Maile on November 9, 1978, in the New Zealand Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Eseta worked as a CNA at various long term care centers. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, quilting, and doing many types of crafts. She loved doing family history and genealogy.
She was a very faithful member of the church. Every calling she ever had was teaching, whether it was Sunday School or Relief Society, she was the best teacher. She also enjoyed being an ordinance worker in the Salt Lake Temple.
Eseta is survived by her husband, Amoni, of Roosevelt; children, George Maile, Tonga; Sinia (Tom Slagle) Maile, Kodiak, Alaska; Tupou, Marryanne, Vicotoria, & Elisi Maile, all of Roosevelt; Eseta (Lopeti) Segi, California; seven grandchildren; siblings, Sione Kelo (Vaiki) Kaufusi, Tau (Maloni) Uasilaa, both of Tonga; Felipe (Tina) Kaufusi, Salt Lake City; Vaka (Reta) Kaufusi, Ballard, Utah; and numerous nieces and nephews.
