Elsie Jane Bird Hardman

Elsie Jane Bird Hardman, age 85, of Bluebell, passed away January 23, 2024, at the Uintah Basin Senior Villa.

    She was born August 12, 1938, in Bluebell, to Lyndon and Alta May Smith Bird.  She married Ned Hardman on May 21, 1958, in Myton.  They were sealed in the Vernal Temple on May 18, 2000.  He died September 14, 2022.

    Elsie was always busy taking excellent care of her family and her home.  She enjoyed making quilts, working in the yard, toll painting, and painting ceramics; and, if she had free time after that, she also liked to do word searches.  She had a great fondness for flowers, and loved to go on rides in the mountains to look at the wildflowers.

    She was active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  She loved her children and adored her grandchildren.

    Elsie is survived by her children, Nelda Erickson, Arnold “Arnie” (Johna) Hardman, Tony Lee (Vickie) Hardman, Steve (Leigh Ann) Hardman; 11 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild; siblings, Lucy (Dean) Ireland, Barbara (Robert) Holsted; and numerous nieces & nephews.

    She was preceded in death by her husband, Ned; her parents, Lyndon & Alta; son-in-law, Don Erickson, grandchildren, Eric Hardman, Kevin Olsen, Cody Olsen; great-grandchildren, Makayla Hardman, Haven Romero; siblings, Laura Kay Bird, Margaret Adams, Nancy Watson, Ken Bird, and Lynnetta Kurtz.  

    Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at the Altamont Stake Center.  There will be a viewing on Tuesday from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Hullinger Mortuary and on Wednesday from 10-10:45 a.m. at the church.    

    Burial will be in the Bluebell Cemetery.
