Dwight Springer

Dwight David Springer, age 69, of Fort Duchesne, was called home to his Heavenly Father, August 5, 2015, due to an asthma attack while doing something that he loved.
He was born January 23, 1946, in Gusher, the son of Roy and Adeline Davis Springer. He married the love of his life, Eunice Bird, on May 5, 1967, in Bluebell. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on November 18, 1989.
Dwight worked at Great Lakes Timber in LaPoint for 22 years, then went to Basin Western in Roosevelt and retired from there after 22 years. He then purchased his own semi and started his own business named Springer Trucking. He was a one of a kind man who loved his family so much. He was always willing to help anyone in need - there wasn't anything he couldn't do.
He enjoyed welding, and building anything with his hands. He was a perfectionist and wouldn't accept anything less. He took pride in every aspect of his life. He was outside every chance he got, whether it was camping, hunting, fishing or looking for horns in the Book Cliffs. Everyone he met became a lifelong friend.
He was passionate about team roping and was a member of the Gusher Roping Club. He won many saddles through the years. He also had been a rodeo judge.
Dwight is survived by his wife, Eunice; children, Dana Springer; Rory Springer, Suesett Willer, Krisy (Lance) Simmons; 15 grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren; siblings, Ida Anderton; Charles (Mary) Springer; Merle (Boyd) Powell; Carol (Bud) Felter; Shorty (Bette) Springer; Roleen (Don) Bird and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Roy & Adeline Springer, Francis Springer; and his sisters, Lela & Loretta Springer.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 10, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at the Ballard LDS Chapel. There will be a viewing on Sunday from 6-8 p.m. at the Hullinger Mortuary and from 10-10:45 a.m. Monday at the church.
Burial will be in the LaPoint Cemetery.
