Don Tyler

December 15, 1943 — December 8, 2023

Don W. Tyler, 79, passed away on December 8, 2023, at his home in Duchesne, Utah, from natural causes.
Don was born December 15, 1943, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to John and Margaret Tyler. Don was the 3rd born out of 9 children. John and Margaret raised their family in Glendale, Utah, where Don graduated from Cyprus High School in 1962. In October of 1962, Don enlisted in the Navy and was on active duty for 4 years, serving part of his time in Vietnam. Don received an honorable discharge in 1966.
In 1976, Don married the love of his life, Margaret Sergent in Cornville, Arizona, where they raised their 5 kids. Don loved taking his family on many adventures outdoors, especially in the desert, where he loved prospecting gold with his dad and family. Don cherished his time hunting, fishing, and camping with his kids and grandkids, creating unforgettable memories, learning how to drive, cutting firewood, and going 4-wheeling. He was a jack of all trades and could fix anything.
Don was quite a character. He would love to wake everyone up, saying, “You gotta get up, you gotta get up, you gotta in the morning.” then he laughed like Elmer Fudd. When Grandpa growled like a dog, all the kids knew someone was doing something wrong.  If the room was too quiet, he would roar like a lion to break the silence and scare everyone out of their seats. He had a great sense of humor.
Don, you will be forever missed until we see you again.
Don is survived by his wife, Margaret, children, Eddy Haggard, Steve Haggard, Mike (Katie) Haggard, Alicia Watanabe, Bj (Amy) Tyler, 16 grandkids, 11great-grandkids, and many nieces and nephews, his brothers, Michael (Jeanne) Tyler, Terry (Tony) Nace, Fred (Kearn) Tyler, and Toni (Larry) Smith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John (Edna) Tyler, Margaret (Ralph) Williams, sisters, Lynn Tyler, Joann Tyler, Kathy Powell, brother, Randal Tyler, niece, Sherry Broadhead, and granddaughter, Neisha Haggard.
Per his wishes he was cremated.
