Eva Diane Richens, age 71, of Ft. Duchesne, passed way January 8, 2021, at the Uintah Basin Medical Center surrounded by her family.
She was born April 24, 1949, in Ogden, to Francis Reginald and Eva Velma Tucker Starkey. She married Vernon B. Richens on December 10, 1965, in Vernal. He died March 17, 2019.
Diane was a wonderful mother and homemaker and her children were her number one priority. She loved spending time with her family and raised many of her grandchildren. She enjoyed gardening, shopping, collecting things, crocheting and going to the mountains. She had a great love for all animals and will be missed by her favorite protector cat, “Bella”
Diane is survived by her children, Trixie (Linus) Harrison, Vernal; Clarinda (Robert) Lough, Ft. Duchesne; 20 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild waiting to make it’s appearance; siblings, Gladys (Darrell) Brown, Montana; Ranae Goodwin, Arizona; Jean Harrison, Florida; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon; her children Sherry Melo, Brian Richens, Tracey Richens; and siblings Doreen, Shirley, Jane, Joann, George, Thelma, Mary, and Frank.
Due to COVID, funeral services will be for immediate family only. The services will be live streamed here. Masks will be required for those attending.
The services will be held on Tuesday, January 12, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at the Ballard Chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. There a viewing prior to the services, from 10-10:45 a.m.
Burial will be in the Gusher Cemetery.
