Deon Cooper

For those who cannot attend the services in person, they will be live-streamed here.

A light went out in our lives as our precious Deon left us and passed into the loving arms of our Savior in the early morning hours of July 8, 2021. Her fragile body could no longer withstand the effects of the debilitating disease of Lupus. We have lost a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend.
Deon Marlor Cooper was born in Bethesda, Maryland, on November 15, 1959, the third child and first little girl of J. Kent and Sharon Stevens Marlor. She grew up in Rexburg, Idaho. She told her dad she was going to marry Troy Cooper when he got home from his mission, and she did. She married her sweetheart, Troy, the neighbor boy up the street, on December 16, 1977, in the Idaho Falls Temple. They became the parents of three children and grandparents to six grandchildren.
Deon started taking dance and gymnastic lessons at an early age and started teaching dance before she graduated from high school. She accomplished her dream managing a dance studio for children and teens for 41 years. She was instrumental in establishing the Roosevelt Academy of Arts in Roosevelt, Utah.
Deon was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints throughout her life. She loved spending time with family. Her laughter could be heard often when joking with siblings and loved ones. She loved all things that had to do with cats and dance. Later in life she expressed joy in traveling around the world with family.
She is survived by her husband, Troy Cooper, three children, Ashley, Dillon (Bonnie), and Kyleigh (Colby); five grandchildren: Karson, Ali, Dimitri, Treyson and Maxleigh; her mother and father, Sharon and Kent Marlor; four brothers, Landon (Peggy), Brad (Marianne), Greg, and Marshall (Jamie) Marlor; and her younger sister, Nan Marlor Wright (Jason), her best friend, plus many nieces and nephews and their families.
She is preceded in death by her granddaughter Odette, and father-in-law, Dick Cooper. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 10, 2021, at 1:00 PM at the Roosevelt 2nd
Ward Chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (250 W. 200 N. Roosevelt, Utah). For those who cannot attend the services in person, they will be live-streamed here.

A viewing will be held that day from 11:30 - 12:45.
Burial will be in the Sutton Cemetery in Rexburg, Idaho on Tuesday, July 13, 2021 at 11:00 a.m.
