Denny Kay Thacker, of Altamont, Utah passed away April 1, 2022 at the young age of 71, at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center.
He was born on February 18, 1951 in Salt Lake City, Utah to James R and Emogene Wall Thacker. While attending Altamont High School, he was involved in many activities which included basketball, volleyball, FFA, and prom king. Denny also was blessed with many talents that included singing, welding, and cooking.
Forty-two years ago, Denny met the love of his life, Doreen Kouri, in Big Piney, Wyoming. They moved from Wyoming to Altamont and then Bluebell, where they established their forever home.
Denny had a successful career in the oilfield which involved the oil rigs, construction, and heavy equipment operator. He enjoyed gathering with friends and family to go fishing, camping, hunting or to laugh and tell stories. Doreen, his kids, and grandchildren were the joys of his life, and he would do anything for them.
Denny is survived by his wife, Doreen; children, Shanna Kay (Josh) Thacker-Misegadis, Lodgepole, Nebraska; Tommy Jack (Meagan) Thacker, Duchesne; grandchildren, Mia & Marissa Quintero; Kade & Kash Thacker, Olivia Misegadis; siblings, Evan R (Sharon) Thacker, Bluebell; Glenda (Robert) Hunt, Cedarview, Randy (Debbie) Thacker, Salt Lake City; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Max & Jessie; and his sister, Valine Norton.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 8, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at the Altamont Stake Center where a viewing will be held on Thursday from 6-8 p.m. and on Friday from 10-10:45 a.m.
Burial will be in the Altamont Cemetery.
