Delyle Leo Giles

August 7, 1956 — July 5, 2023

The funeral service will be live-streamed here.

Delyle L.“Dee”  Giles was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, on August 7, 1956, to Robert and Lena Defa Giles. He passed away on July 5, 2023, in Hanna, Utah.
Dee was the proud oldest of four children. He grew up in Rose Park and graduated from West High School. He spent a lot of time in the Tabiona Valley. Dee had a core group of friends since grade school and they have been holding reunions annually since 1972. His friends were his family, and all have been on many adventures.
Dee and Kathy Giles met at a bar that Kathy was too young to be working in and Dee was too young to be drinking in. This was an extraordinary love story as Dee and Kathy would have celebrated their 41st anniversary on July 6, 2023.
Dee met Christy at six months old and loved her as his own from the beginning. When Christy was four, Dee and Kathy thought it was time to give her the gift of a sibling. It took some time and a whole lot of trying but Robbie finally came ten years later.
Dee is known and will forever be remembered for his work ethic, willingness to help anyone, riding side by sides, and spending time with kids and grandkids. Dee loved traveling down south in the winter and living his summers in the Tabiona Valley.
When Dee was sixteen years old, he was shot with buck shot while duck hunting with friends, causing his sight to be blurred. But Dee never let it slow him down.
Dee is survived by his wife, Kathy, daughter, Christy (Robby), son, Robbie (Liz), and Mark (Juanita) Ivory; grandchildren, Ayanna, Andrew, Avery, and Ellie Mae; siblings, Sheila (Mike), Dallas (Robin), and Doug (Stacie).
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 10, 2023, at 11:00 AM, at the Tabiona Chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
A visitation will be held from 10:00 - 10:45 AM at the church prior to the service.
    Burial in the Tabiona Cemetery.
