Cheryl Dawn "Dawnie" Murphy, age 59, of Roosevelt, died suddenly and unexpectedly on December 2, 2025.
She was born on July 14, 1966 to Larry and Cheryl Murray in Roosevelt, Utah.
Dawnie began her life with her trademark features, curly brown hair, brown eyes and big dimples. She was always a big personality and full of life. She could brighten any room and left a mark where ever she went attracting many friends into her life.
There was never an adventure or party she didn't like! She left this life shortly after celebrating her parents’, Larry and Cheryl Murray's, 60th wedding anniversary, being surrounded by her family and loved ones.
She always had a special relationship with her aunt, Lois Hansen, after spending a summer with her during high school as well as Lois's children, Chalyn, JC, and David.
She attended Roosevelt Elementary School and Roosevelt Junior High School and then graduated from Union High School where she met the love of her life, Kendall Lee Murphy. They were married on June 29, 1984, in Roosevelt, Utah and later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on July 3, 1985. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and held numerous church callings.
Dawnie worked in various fields starting as an apprentice beautician under Elsie Meyers and later as a bank teller, worked for a title company and was actively employed with Duchesne County Recorder's office on her passing.
After an unexpected loss of her baby girl, Racene, she and Kendall were fortunate to welcome three other children into this life, Curtis, Johanna and Cherilyn. They were her life! Dawnie was always attending and supporting her kids or grandkids events and could always be heard shouting over the crowd to cheer them on!
Dawnie was always crafting, sewing or working on some other project which she usually gave away to others as a way of showing her love. Her latest passion was building Lego sets with her grandkids.
She is survived by her husband, Kendall Lee Murphy; son Curtis Don (Kati) Murphy; daughters, Johanna (Ben) Sorensen and Cherilyn (Jay) Curry all of Roosevelt; parents, Larry Clyde and Cheryl June Murray, Washington, Utah; siblings, Roy Wayne (Shelly) Murray, Cedar View, Utah; Calvin Lane (Kim) Murray, Roosevelt; Karen Murray (Robbins) Radley, Hurricane, Utah; Nikki Marie (Jeff) Van Orman, Washington, Utah; Douglas Scott (Sherry) Murray, Roosevelt; father-in-law, Earl L.
