Cyrus Christopher "Budgee" Groves

Cyrus Christopher “Budgee” Groves, age 78, of Myton, died on March 17, 2020 at the Heber Valley Medical Center.
Christopher was born on October 27, 1941 in Ft. Duchesne, Utah to Harold Johnson and Juanita Lajuan Arrappo Groves.  He married Delaine George, and they later divorced.
Christopher attended the Whiterocks boarding school and then Union High School where he played baseball, football, and basketball.  He was very athletic and a “sports nut”.  After high school he attended Snow College, University of Utah, and later Steven-Henager College where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
Christopher served in the United States Army and served two tours in Vietnam.  He worked as a superintendent for Indian Tribes in the Western United States.  He liked to gamble and loved animals.  He loved to watch college sports, and although he cheered for BYU, he was always a loyal Utes fan.  He was a happy person, enjoyed life, and always asked how his nieces, nephews and other family members were doing.
Christopher is survived by his children, Lisa, Scott, and Shauna; siblings, Russell Box, Roderick and Ronald Groves, and Merlynn Cambridge; and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, infant sister, Murial, and brothers, Harold and HJ Groves.
He will be available for viewing at the Hullinger Mortuary until Thursday, March 19 at 6:00 PM.  Following the viewings he will be cremated, per his wishes.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Christopher’s name to the American Cancer Society or the American Diabetes Association.
