Cynthia Ruth Redfoot, age 58, of Yellowstone Subdivision, passed away September 8, 2024, at her home after a long illness.
She was born February 2, 1966, in Roosevelt, Utah, to Charles and Colleen Wash Redfoot. She was raised by her aunt, Dolly Cuch.
She attended Sherman Indian High School then Intermountain Indian High School and then returned to Sherman to graduate. She furthered her education at the United Tribes College and Bismark State College. She returned home and worked at Red Canyon Lodge in Flaming Gorge where she met many different people. She also worked for the Indian Health Services in Medical Records, BIA Oil, Gas, Farm, & Pasture; and then finished her career at the Ute Tribe Water Systems, retiring after 25 years.
She loved going to Sundance Corral to pray and sing. She attended peyote meetings, and listened to all kinds of music. Traveling with family was always an adventure. She loved the company of her friends and family.
Cynthia is survived by her sisters, Ambie Redfoot, Nancy Redfoot, Lelanie Redfoot, M Dixie Redfoot, Stefanie Redfoot (Ron Ailak), Marilynn Redfoot (Anthony Vigil), Dalene (Lloyd) Miller, Dellana Mart, Joline (Richard) Poowegup, Bettina Redfoot; brothers, Gordon, Dan, & Henry Howell; Theron Root, Stanley Cornpeach, Quinton Serawop, Aaron Redfoot; special persons, Lela Blu Soccoiff, Alverna (Brian) Nelson, Eshelle Crooke; grandkids, Graci Cebron Jace, Quinn Anneysia, Amelia, Ardell Jr, Oarum, Michael, Talkingwolf Arila, Lill Dawee Howell, Michael & Frankie, Kamden Redcap, Alex Redcap, Kiowa & Tiger Nelson; other special people, Sophia Box, Gloria Tom & Family; Sunni Shirley & Family; Raylayne Checora & Family; Rosemary Black & Family; Ross Mills, Christella Trujillo, and Donna Mae Johnson; Marlo Viveros, Donna Salgado, Derinda Miranda; aunts, Constance Manning, Irene Gardner, Geneva “Ginny” Chimburas, Dolly Cuch, Marion Serawop, Angelia Checora, and Pauline Black; uncles, Adelbert Tavashutz, Phillip Chimburas; and numerous family and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at 10:00 AM at the Whiterocks Community Building.
A wake will be held starting on Monday after 4:00 PM at the Redfoot family home in Whiterocks. She will stay there until Wednesday morning.
Burial in the John Harmes Cemetery.
