Connie Rae (Stevens) Ross passed away peacefully at her home February 26, 2023. Free from the physical and mental ailments of this earth, she joins her loving husband, Larry. Together now, they are busy pursuing their next step in Heavenly Father’s eternal plan.

Born March 21, 1938 in Roosevelt, Utah to Orson and Millie Stevens, Connie was the second of four children. She married Larry S. Ross on June 27, 1957 in the Salt Lake City, Utah Temple, of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

Connie was the mother of eight children. Although small and petite physically, her heart and love for her family, friends, and her Savior, Jesus Christ, was broad and unending. While Larry worked to provide, Connie was the mainstay in the rearing of eight children. Never a pushover, she held her own while teaching her children right from wrong. She was skilled at meeting the needs of each child, making each feel special and loved.

Sweethearts from high school, Connie married Larry a year after both graduated in 1956 from Union High School. They settled down in Pleasant Valley, Utah to begin a family of their own. Along with being a mother and housewife, Connie held several part-time jobs along the way including financial secretary for Johnson Water Association, secretary for Ross Bros. Feed and Seed, and was also a postal worker at the Myton, Utah Post Office. She later worked as a volunteer with her many friends at the Pink Shop located in the Uintah Basin Medical Center.

A fierce disciple of Jesus Christ, Connie accepted many LDS church positions helping and loving others and displaying Christlike service. She also served as a missionary in 2007-08 with her husband, Larry, in the Tennessee, Nashville Mission.

Her best friend and sister, Janet was a great support to Connie. Janet and Connie married brothers, Leon and Larry Ross, respectively. The two families were not only close blood relations, but loved each other growing up. Connie would attend Education Week at BYU with Janet year after year.

Connie is survived by her eight children: Steven (Jeanna) Ross, Greg (Lisa) Ross, Michele (Rick) Schroedter, Mike (Cachelle) Ross, Richard (Kathy) Ross, Troy (Shauna) Ross, Ryan (Brenda) Ross, and Jared (Kadee) Ross; thirty-eight grandchildren and twenty-nine great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Janet (Leon) Ross, brothers, David (Coleen) Stevens, Chris (Linda) Stevens, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her spouse, Larry, parents, and grandson, Garret Schroedter.

Funeral services will be held in Roosevelt, Utah, at 10:00 am at the Roosevelt 2nd & 11th Ward Church located at 200 North 300 West on Saturday, March 4, 2023. Friends and family are invited to attend the viewing on the same day from 9:00-9:45 am, as well as the viewing scheduled for Friday evening, March 3, 2023, from 6:00-7:00 pm at the same location.
