Ora Chell Gardner Todd, age 80, of Cambridge, Idaho, and formerly of Roosevelt, passed away peacefully at her home on August 16, 2015.
She was born on March 17, 1935, in Neola to Rex Lincoln and Zella Maria Allred Gardner. She married Max Russel Todd on September 17, 1953 in the Logan LDS Temple. They ranched in the Ballard area for over 50 years and contributed greatly to the community. She lived the last eight years in Cambridge, Idaho with her daughter and son in-law.
She was a member of the LDS church and served faithfully in many callings, including Ward Young Women President, Stake and Ward Primary Counselor, and Ballard North Ward Librarian. She served in her greatest calling of wife and mother for over 62 years, raising nine children.
One could not drive by her home without admiring her beautiful flowers and vegetable garden. Many in the Ballard area have been recipients of her talents of canning, sewing, dry flower arranging and other quiet acts of service.
She is survived by nine children and their spouses: Craig and Freda Todd, Roosevelt, Debra and Edwin Winder, Vernal; Linda Mendoza, South Jordan; Karen and Dale Smith, Brigham City (currently serving in the Nauvoo Temple); Betty and Dale McKee, Cambridge; Michelle and James Lewis, Duchesne; Stefanie and Andy Fenton, Cedar Hills; Rex and Suzette Todd, Logan; Russel and Rhanda Todd, Washington; forty three grandchildren and sixty one great grandchildren; brothers and sisters: Audrey Stubstad, Emmett, ID; Iliff Gardner, Vernal; Hattie Jensen, Neola; Claryn Gardner, Vernal.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Max; infant son, Max Jr.; four brothers Eldon, Dahl, Garth, and Glen; and two great granddaughters, Kamree and KyLynn Fitzgerald.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 21, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Ballard LDS Chapel. There will be a viewing on Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Hullinger Mortuary and from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the church on Friday. Burial will be in the Roosevelt Memorial Park.
