    Louella Charlene Hartman Jessen, age 74, of Altamont, passed away March 5, 2022, at her home with her family by her side, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.  
    Charlene was born March 3, 1948, In Roosevelt, Utah, to Edna Lemon and Edwin Max Hartman.  She grew up on the family farm and spent the majority of her life in Altamont, attending elementary and graduating from Altamont High School.  She then moved to Logan, Utah, and attended Tueller’s school of Dance.
    She was sealed to the love of her life, William (Bill) George Jessen in the Salt Lake Temple, on December 4, 1969. He died June 26, 2009.
    Charlene was a beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother and all-around extraordinary woman.  She was a lady of many talents; she was meticulous and made sure everything was done to perfection.  She loved to dance, especially ballet and clogging, and spent over 35 years teaching dance in the Uintah Basin.
    She loved to stay busy and you could always find her sewing, crocheting, quilting, doing yard work, splitting wood, or in her kitchen baking. Charlene was a talented cake decorator and made many wedding cakes. She was an excellent cook and found great joy in sharing it with others.
    Family was the most important thing to her; she loved having family dinners, picnics, camping, spending holidays together, and just having the family and grandkids around. She loved the mountains, and spent as much time as she could there camping and riding horses.
    She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in numerous callings, including: the Regional Special Primary, Relief Society, Young Women, her ward’s Primary and as a Temple Worker for 7 years.  
    Charlene is survived by her children; Robert (Sherry) Jessen, Vernal; Shantelle (Brian) Thacker, Altamont; TamiCheree (Shane) Duncan, Cedarview; and Kreg (Brittany) Jessen, Mountain Home; 17 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren; sister, Sherri Walker, Mountain Home; brothers, Larry Hartman, Provo; Laird (Arsenath) Hartman, Wellsville; Edwin (Myra) Hartman, Altamont; and many nieces and nephews.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, William (Bill) George Jessen, her son Rodney William Jessen, and her parents.
    
    Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 10, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at the Altamont Stake Center.  A viewing will be held there Wednesday night from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and that morning from 9:30-10:45 a.m.  Burial will be in the Altamont Cemetery.
