Boots Sireech, age 67, passed away March 21, 2020, at the University of Utah Hospital.
He was born on September 27, 1952 in Roosevelt, Utah to Vincent Sr. and Edith Cesspooch Sireech.
Boots studied at the Julliard School of Arts, the Paris Ballet Academy, Connecticut College, the Institute of American Indian Arts, and the Phillips Exeter Academy. He lived in Europe and Texas. He had the opportunity to dance for Queen Elizabeth and for Debbie Allen.
He was a strict and strong teacher about the traditional ways. He was a head member of the Yellow Elk Singers, composing many Native Songs, was a Sundancer, and a champion Handgame player. His beadwork was meticulous, and he was a skilled painter and pottery maker. He enjoyed cooking, decorating for the Holidays, and was an excellently lucky gambler.
Boots is survived by his siblings, Angelina Serawop, Yellowstone Subdivision; Venita Sireech, Ft. Duchesne; Roseline Sireech, Randlett; Darlena King, Roosevelt; Gloria & Marti King, Shiprock, New Mexico; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, grand- and great-grandkids.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his siblings, Vincentia Sireech, I Venita I Sireech; Priscilla Irene Sireech, Vincent Earl Sireech, and Timothy L. Sireech.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 25, at 10:00 AM at the Hullinger Mortuary. He will be available for viewing until Tuesday at 6:00 PM.
Burial in the Ft. Duchesne Cemetery.
