Bonnie Ann Shiner

May 31, 1945 — June 19, 2023

Altamont

The funeral service will be live-streamed here.

On June 19, 2023, Bonnie Ann Shiner, age 78, of Altonah, passed away at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Bonnie was born May 31, 1945, to Curtis Lloyd and Ida Gundeberg Anderson Walker, in Roosevelt, Utah.  Bonnie grew up on a farm and swore she would never marry a farmer, but on November 2, 1963, she did just that and married Miles C. “Bike” Shiner after graduating together, side by side from Altamont High School.  Later in life, Bike and Bonnie were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on June 30, 1993.
Together, Bike and Bonnie worked very hard building a farm life for their family.  Bonnie was the ultimate rancher's wife.  She could and would do anything.  Bonnie was a great cook, a superb seamstress, a skillful tractor driver, exceptional on horseback, and could milk a cow and get the baby calves to suck better than anyone in the family.  Bonnie always saw to it that Shane, Shaune, Cody, and Kimmie always had a good horse and that they had the opportunity to do 4-H, stock shows, and rodeos.  She spent countless nights at the Altamont arena watching Bike and the kids rope.  She loved her time on the rodeo trail watching Bike, her kids, and grandchildren compete.
The only thing Bonnie loved more than an ice-cold Coke was her grandchildren.  She was never too busy to play with them.  She loved to make them a picnic and sit on the bridge over the canal to eat it.  She was patient with them while teaching them to drive in the old feed truck in the field.  She was their biggest champion and fierce protector.  She was definitely a grandma that thought her grandkids could do no wrong.
Bonnie will be greatly missed by her family and friends.  Until we meet again grandma, we "Love you the mostest"!
Bonnie is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Miles Shiner, of Altonah, and children: Shane (Carrie Lynn), Altamont; Shaune (Michelle), Ioka; Cody (Ashley), Altamont; & Kimmie (Travis), Oklahoma; 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and 2 on the way. Bonnie is also survived by siblings, Sherrie (sister-in-law), Vickie & Glen (sister), Ida Lou & Larry (sister), Brent & Jessie (brother).
Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, Curt & Ida Walker, and 3 siblings, Lloyd (brother), Peggy (sister-in-law), & Steve (brother).
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 24, 2023, at 11:00 AM at the Moon Lake/Lake Fork Chapel. There will be a viewing at the church on Friday from 6:00-8:00 PM and on Saturday from 10:00-10:45 AM.
