Billie Reidhead Alexander, age 87, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, formerly of Altamont, Utah, passed away peacefully with her daughter by her side on January 22, 2026. She was born to Joseph Arthur and Jewel Elizabeth Reidhead (Williams) in Linden, Arizona, on March 13, 1938, the third of eight children.

Her family relocated to Roosevelt, Utah, on May 8, 1944. They made that trip in a pickup truck with not only six children but also a cousin, his dog, and crates full of chickens.

During her high school years, she was active in the Future Homemakers of America (FHA) and represented her chapter at Girls State in Des Moines, Iowa. Additionally, she sang with a quartet for several years. Subsequently, she and Robert became a successful dance team, winning various competitions.

She married Robert Charles Alexander, a farmer of Mountain Home Utah, on September 11, 1956. While raising their children, she taught 4-H knitting, winning several blue ribbons throughout the years. She was a professional seamstress and loved upholstering furniture, and making draperies for others. She also helped Robert on their farm, soon becoming an expert at irrigating the hay fields. In 1971, they purchased a family café in the town of Altamont, Utah, along with a home directly behind it, later to be known as Alexander's Café. They spent many years running and working their business. She also spent time as a secretary for a few companies in the area. Above all, her biggest joy and accomplishment was raising her children.

She and Robert moved to Vernal, Utah, in 2015, later selling the home after Robert passed in 2022. Billie then moved to Mesquite Nevada next to her sister, Teddie. In 2024, her daughter Brooke relocated her to Philadelphia Pennsylvania, so they could spend the remainder of her life together, treasuring every second. Even all the doctor trips. We were able to slip in some lunch stops, Starbucks, and a few road trips around the area, which she loved. And last but not least, we spent the biggest share of last summer at Brooke and Bill's beach house on the Jersey Shore.

Billie is survived by her daughter Brooke (Bill) Alexander-Bucher, Philadelphia, PA; grandsons, McAfee Alexander, Jason Alexander (Chris) Kessler, Clayton Alexander, all of Kemmerer, WY; McLean Mull, Philadelphia; Alexander (Brandi) Mull, Inwood, West Virginia; Davis Mull Inwood, and Billy (Melissa) Bucher, both of Croydon, PA; great-grandchildren, Ariana Gunnoe-Brown, Danica Campbell, Beckham Mull, Griffin Mull, and Lillian Bucher.

Billie was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, and children Susan Hope (1962) and Gil (2016); parents Joe and Jewell Reidhead; parents-in-law Chuck and Lillis Alexander; sister Pattie Burdick, and sisters-in-law Iris Lou “Dolly” Lindsay and Jewel Lamb.

Billie will be missed by many.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Hullinger Mortuary, 457 E 300 N, Roosevelt, Utah.

Burial of the cremated remains will be at the Mountain Home Cemetery following the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to Breakthrough T1D (formerly the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation), a cause close to Billie’s heart. She was deeply devoted to supporting this organization after her great-granddaughter, Lillian, was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at the age of three.
