live-stream of the funeral service HERE.Betty Jo Cornpeach Kiever Manning, age 53, of Whiterocks Utah and Dinosaur Colorado, passed away April 27, 2024, in Grand Junction, Colorado, at St. Mary's Hospital from complications of liver and other organ failures.
She was born April 18, 1971, in Roosevelt, Utah, to Merlin Ray Cornpeach and Marilyn Jim Cornpeach. She joined a family of five brothers, and one sister, Raymond, Alphonso, Pauline Ann, Fredrick, Conrad, and Ranjo. After the passing of her father, Betty briefly lived in foster care until she was adopted by Sheryl & Terry Kiever. She gained two younger sisters & four younger brothers, Ligeia, Jessie, Mickey, Colby, Chris & Erik. Betty had a big heart and loved us all unconditionally.
Growing up, Betty attended the Uintah Learning Center where she participated in the Special Olympics and excelled in swimming. She won many gold medals at State competitions. In 1986, she moved to Texas where she attended and graduated from Italy High School. Betty later had three beautiful daughters, Shelly, Ashley and Amber.
Betty resided in Dinosaur Colorado with her special friend & caregiver, Theodore “Ted” Kalgren. Betty's interests included her obsession with WWE wrestling, her animals (especially her dog, "CoaCoa"), going to & enjoying Big Springs, visiting & laughing with friends & cousins, attending Pow Wows & the Bear Dance, Betty Boop and watching movies over and over again. She also recently joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Betty is survived by her three daughters, Shelly, Amber Maloney, & Ashley Kiever of Texas; four grandchildren, Ethan, Addison, Odin & Naomi. She also was survived in death by her nine siblings, Alphonso Cornpeach, Pauline C. Fausett, Conrad Cornpeach, Ligeia Scott, Erik Kiever, Jessie Kiever, Chris Kiever, Colby Kiever, Mickey Kiever; her mother, Sheryl Kiever; her father and stepmother, Ellen and Terry Kiever; her friend, Ted Kalgren; her aunts, Glenda Ridlehuber & Leana Copperfield; and uncle, David "Butch" Holt.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Merlin & Marilyn; her siblings, Raymond, Fredrick, and Ranjo. She was welcomed in Heaven by her Mamaw and Papaw, Evelyn and Lewis Holt.
We love her and we will miss her. She made the world a better place just by filling it with her laughter. Phillipians 1:3 - "I thank my God every time I remember you".
There will be a wake after 4:00 p.m. on Friday, May 3, 2024, at the Whiterocks Community Building. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at the Whiterocks Branch of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Following the service, they will return to the Whiterocks Community Building for a luncheon and final viewing prior to going to the John Harmes Cemetery in Whiterocks for burial.
