On Tuesday, July 21, 2020, Rebecca “Becky” Herrera Fay, a loving wife, mother, sister passed away at age 63.
Rebecca was born July 16, 1957, in Roosevelt, Utah, to Nelson and LaRae Herrera. She was the first born of eight children and was the best big sister. She attended school in Duchesne, Utah, and graduated in the class of 1976.
Right before Becky’s senior year in high school she met Michael Claude Fay at a school dance. The family would tease her saying “they fell in love over a biscuit.” Shortly after the dance, Becky’s father was working outside on a car and Mike stopped to help. He offered Mike a biscuit that Becky had made. It was in that moment they knew their love would know no bounds, simple, gentle, and effortless. The type of love that touches everyone around them. It continued at a rapid pace and on August 30, 1975, they joined hands in marriage. They moved to Cheyenne, Wyoming, where their one and only child, Clifford Nelson Fay, was born. Her blue eyed boy, he was the apple of her eye, anchor of her life, and her very best friend, they never missed a day speaking to each other. Together Mike and Becky raised Cliff shoulder to shoulder teaching him to love unsparingly.
Becky had the biggest, warmest heart, a heart of gold, who loved everyone and made every effort to stay connected to her family and friends. She was the glue that kept the family close and together. She was one of the rare ones, so effortlessly herself and the world loved her for it. She was the owner of Custom Cleaners. She loved her little dogs, “Junior” and “Sarah,” who will miss her deeply. She enjoyed crocheting, camping, chancing her luck at casinos, going on adventures with her husband traveling all over, but most of all spending quality time with her family.
Becky is survived by her husband, Michael Fay, Farmington, New Mexico; son, Clifford (Kristie) Fay, Monahans, Texas; siblings, Ray Herrera of Duchesne; Brenda (James) Caton, Farmington, New Mexico; Diane (George) Vogt, Evanston, Wyoming; Susan (George) Burke, Lockwood, Montana; Donna (Mike) Holdaway, Rawlins, Wyoming; and Jeanie Montague, Duchesne; several nieces and nephews, and several great nieces and nephews which she treated all as her own children.
She was preceded in death by her parents Nelson and LaRae Herrera; sister, Cindy King; grandparents, Ruford “Bill” and Nelda Hill, Jose “Joe” and Pouline Herrera.
