Beatrice "Peaches" Checora

Beatrice Prettybird “Peaches” Checora, age 43, of Ft. Duchesne, passed away March 24, 2026, from a long illness.

She was born December 26, 1982, in Roosevelt, to Alfred Checora, Sr, .and Tammy Gardner. She was raised by Sherrane Checora and Emmett Duncan, Sr.

Peaches loved to be a homemaker, taking care of her children, and baking and eating all of the time. She enjoyed shopping, traveling, family barbeques, being outdoors, camping, and trying new things to eat– making the kids try it as well. She had a great sense of humor and spoke her mind. She attended Pow Wows, went to movies, bowled, and liked to sing and dance.

Peaches is survived by her children, Lavin Reed, Heaven Leigh Checora, Sahraleigh Checora, Tommy John, Jr., Salleigh John; parents, Sherranne Checora and Emmett Duncan, Sr.; grandparents, Pauline Black, Gilbert Gardner; siblings, Alfred Checora, Jr., Jayleen Checora, Filena Checora, Malinda Duncan, Christian Angelias, Khadijah Checora, Jamal Checora, and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred & Tammy; siblings, Sylvester, Isaiah, Roscoe, & Isaac Checora; grandparents, Pauline Ignacio, Alfred Checora, Sr., and Emily Serawop.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 30, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Alanna Checora home in Ft. Duchesne. There will be a wake at her home starting on Sunday, after 4:00 p.m.

Burial will be in the Ft. Duchesne Cemetery.
