Barbara Burton Pratt of Neola, Utah, died at age 98 of natural causes on April 5, 2024.
She was born March 29, 1926 in Providence Utah to Iven Henry and Florence Burton. She grew up in Park Valley, Utah, and was the oldest of six children. She loved and helped care for her siblings. She moved to Pocatello, Idaho, with her aunt during her high school years. She sewed a dress for her baby sister while in high school.
After high school, she worked at the Cache county courthouse in Logan. Her friends lined her up with Alma Glenn Pratt and they were married three months later on December 29th, 1948 in the Logan Utah Temple. They moved to Neola in 1959. They were blessed with seven children, 22 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. They served a mission in the Philippines, and both served faithfully in the Provo and Vernal temples. Glenn passed away on July 15, 2004.
Barbara enjoyed gardening, reading, playing piano, quilting, sewing, canning fruit, and providing service to others. She loved her membership in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had many callings throughout her life. She loved her family and her Savior, Jesus Christ.
In passing, she is now reunited with her husband, Alma Glenn Pratt; daughter, Carolyn Holder; brothers, Henry and Joseph Burton; and grandchildren, Joey Pratt, Eric Wright, Steven Wright, and Shallon Wright.
She is survived by daughter, Eunice (Glen) Wright of Avon, Utah; son, Wesley Pratt of Neola; daughter, Glenda (Mark) Washburn of Page, Arizona; daughter, Janet (Carl) Collins of St George, Utah; son Merlin (Maria) Pratt of Spanish Fork, Utah; son, Ken (Peggy) Pratt of Neola; sister, Helen Zollinger of Providence, Utah; brother, David (Joyce) Burton of Providence, Utah; sister, Martha Egbert of Lake Tapps, Washington.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 15, 2024, at 11:00 AM at the Neola Chapel. A viewing will be held that morning from 10:00-10:45 AM.
Burial will be in the Neola Cemetery.
The family would like to thank the Hospice and CNA nurses that cared for her.
