Angela Shavanaux

     Angela Checora Shavanaux, age 81, of Ft. Duchesne, passed away June 25,2025 at the Intermountain Medical Center in Salt Lake City, Utah
    She was born November 30, 1943 in Ft. Duchesne, Utah to Frank and Lulu Myore Checora.  She married Dale Shavanaux.
    Angela travel through many states, playing handgames, through the years she made many friends.  She enjoyed the outdoors, traveling, gambling, attending the Sundance, Bear Dance, and Pow Wows.  She delighted in animals and loved her dogs and cats that she had through the years.  Her family was the most important thing in her life and she cherished spending time with each of them.
    She is survived by her husband, Dale Shavanaux, children, Sterling Taveapont, Ena (Eli)  Chapoose, granddaughter, Debra Redfeather, her siblings, Pauline C Black, and Jackie (Jerry) Tapoof, Frank (Glenda) Arrowchis, Smiley Arrowchis, many nieces and nephews, grandchildren, great grandchildren, her dog Daisy Mae, cat, JJ, and bird, Lily, and all of her handgame family, both near and far.  
    She is preceded in death by her parents, children, Blake Taveapont, Ruthann Serawop, LaDoris Taveapont, siblings,  Alice Copperfield, Lydia Walter, Clark Orrum, Walter Orrum,  Rosella Yazzie, LaMona Checora, Julia Yazzie,  Alfred Checora, Oscar Yump, Stanford Checora, Sr., Lloyd Arrowchis, Michael Arrowchis, and grandchildren, Patrick Taveapont J-lin Perank, niece, Percelina Howell, and her dog Cindy.
    Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, July 1, 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Roosevelt Memorial Park.  There will a viewing from 9:00  - noon.
