Alyce Patry Miller

October 9, 1939 — February 24, 2023

THIS OBITUARY IS BEING PLACED ON THIS WEBSITE AS A COURTESY TO THE FAMILY. THE HULLINGER MORTUARY IS NOT HANDLING ANY PART OF THESE SERVICES.

Alyce Patry Miller passed away on February 24, 2023 in the presence of her two sons, Milton and Michael. She was born in Roosevelt Utah on October 9, 1939 to William “Bill” and Elva C. Patry.

She married Dewey Rees Miller in Roosevelt, Utah August 2nd, 1960 and lived in the Salt Lake Valley where they raised their two sons.

After Alyce graduated from Union High School, she pursued a degree at Stevens-Heneger College. Alyce worked at Tooele Army Depot, Kearns Improvement District, and State of Utah’s H.E.A.T Program, where she served the community and her clients for many years until the age of 75.

She was known as Aunt Alley, Grandma Miller, and a mother figure to many who knew her. Her favorite past time included candy, conversation, coffee, and cigarettes. She savored gossip, spoiled her grandkids, and supported their extracurricular events. She shared her time and energy with people she loved when she wasn’t napping. She spent hours on the phone with her sister, Gaylyn and gambled with her in Wendover. She kept up with the extended family to ensure she was the first to know any good details and would happily share with anyone who had a listening ear, with an added “but don’t tell anyone”. Her common phrase, “Come sit and visit for a minute”, would be heard to any new face that walked into the room. She was curious and made connections, where that “minute” would turn to an hour. If you were friends with her on Facebook, you would have a liked photo and a comment left by Alyce Miller. With her passing on, there is a gap in our hearts and a gap in the gossip wheel. We love and miss you!

Alyce is survived by her two sons, Milton (Gina) Miller of Roosevelt, Utah; and Michael (Andrea) Miller of Taylorsville, Utah. Grandchildren Constance (Nick), Riley, Lindsley (Dustin), McKenzie, Abby, Brielle, and great grandchildren Raiden, Mylie and unborn baby Moffit.

She was preceded by her parents, siblings; Billy Patry, Max (Pat) Patry, Carol (Conrad) Hollenbeck, Gaylyn (Jerry) Swenson and husband, Dewey Miller.
