Alona Kelsey

    Alona Alice Kelsey, age 69, of Roosevelt, passed away December 14, 2015, at her home after a long illness.
    She was born June 27, 1946, in Heber, Utah, to Eugene and Neva Summers Rasmussen.  She married Richard Clyde Kelsey, and he died May 15, 2010.
    Alona worked for the Duchesne County Sheriff’s office as a dispatcher and as a correctional facilities officer.  She also did retail work at the Outpost Mercantile and waitressing.    She enjoyed her family, friends, camping, yard work, flowers, and adored her grandkids.  She always looked forward to hosting amazing parties for the 4th of July, Christmas. Cooking and a good cup of coffee were two of her favorite things.  
    Alona is survived by her children, Jerry Kelsey, and Sandra Dorcas, both of Roosevelt; brothers and sisters, Danny Iorg, Ft. Duchesne; Larry (Novalea) Rasmussen, Duchesne; Beth (Milton) Tanner, Myton; Dennis (Kathy) Rasmussen, Ft. Duchesne; Roger Rasmussen, Ogden; Jan Rasmussen (Roger Evans), Roosevelt; grandkids, Michelle (Matt) Kelsey; Amanda Dorcas (William), Samantha Dorcas (Brett), Karisa (Lane) Graham, Devin Kelsey; 10 great-grandkids, and many nieces & nephews.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sons, Ricky and Lonnie; brother & sisters, Rosemarie, Carol, Rex; father- & mother-in-law, Clyde & Viola Kelsey; brothers- and sisters-in-law, Doran, Dan, Rayola, and Dolores Kelsey.
    There will be a viewing on Saturday December 19, 2015 from 11:00 a.m. -1:00 p.m., at the Hullinger Mortuary followed by a graveside service at 2:00 p.m. at the Strawberry Cemetery.
