Allen Kay Secrest, of Roosevelt, died April 7, 2026, at The Uintah Basin Rehabilitation and Senior Villa due to complications with Parkinson's disease, just 2 days prior to his 68th birthday.
He was born April 9, 1958 in Moab, Utah, to Irvin Kay and Meris Rhae Barton Secrest. Allen was the fourth of five children. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
At a young age, Allen, moved to Roosevelt with his family where he later graduated from Union High School. He enlisted in the U.S. Army and served a tour in South Korea. After receiving an honorable discharge, Allen returned to Roosevelt and spent much of his early work life employed in the oil and gas industry. He later changed careers and worked for Udell's Cabinets in Vernal for several years. He acquired a CDL and spent a year driving Semi-truck cross country before returning to Udell's.
Allen married Tami Brown and excitedly adopted her two children, Ashlei and Tyler. They later divorced but remained good friends until his death. His world continued to revolve around his children and grandchildren after the divorce.
Allen is survived by his son Tyler; son-in-law, Justin Stearns; grandchildren, Kyson Stearns and Brooklyn Stearns, mother Meris; brothers, Ken (Karen), Steven (Danette), and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Ashlei Stearns; father, Irvin; brother, Ray; sister, Christine Marshall; and brother-in-law Dale Marshall.
The family expresses their appreciation to The Villa for their care of Allen in his final months.
There will be a viewing at the Hullinger Mortuary from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon on Monday, April 13, 2026. Immediately following the viewing there will be military honors presented. He will then be cremated. At 1:00 p.m., following the military honors, there will be a Memorial Service at the Roosevelt Stake Center, 447 E Lagoon Street.
