Alfred N “Alf” Lublin, age 76, of Fruitland, passed away peacefully at his home on January 12, 2026.
Alfred was born on June 11, 1949, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Ronald and Fanny Mary Chatwin Lublin.
When he was very young, his Dad would plan long extended trips, traveling and visiting many landmarks locations across the United States. Every year his family would look forward to these amazing and memorable vacations.
Alfred would construct pole vaults and practice endless hours jumping them until he could clear the highest pole effortlessly. He was very athletic in everything he tried.
While attending a band class at West High School in 1965, he met Sandra “Sandy” Jansen when they were just 16. After graduating high school, they attended a marketing course together at Salt Lake Community College in 1967. In August of 1969, their instructor from the college, who also happened to be a Justice of the Peace, performed their marriage ceremony. They were married for 57 years and spent 61 good years together.
Beginning in 1973, Alfred and Sandra started a family and raising two sons, Shane and Tory. He taught them many life skills, how to work hard, and stand up for themselves.
Alfred worked in the automotive industry for over 50 years; he painted cars for about 30 of those years. The family often worked on cars together at home in their garage. Everything they did was as a family: raise animals, garden, hunting, fishing, and camping. Alfred spent endless hours rowing a rubber raft and fishing with groups, his own and extended family member’s children. Then he would take them on long hikes. Alfred gained a reputation as “The Pied Piper” because of the charm he had on kids. He also enjoyed taking his grandkids Lizard hunting whenever they got the chance.
He was strong and tuff, but also very caring and compassionate. He will be remembered as a charming and fun character that always had the ability to make people laugh. He will be loved and missed by many.
Alfred is survived by his wife, Sandra, his sons, Shane Alfred (Maria) Lublin and Tory Jansen (Colleen) Lublin; 6 grandchildren: Amecie, Skyler, Jansen (Reagan), Sarah, Garhet, and Wyatt; and 2 great-grandchildren, Koe and Benjamin, with a third on the way; siblings, Ronald Lublin, Jr., and Anita Haddan; siblings-in-law, Rebecca Jansen Bishop, Kirsten Jansen, and Mark R Jansen.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ronald and Fanny, his parents-in-law, Reed C and Betty Dykes Jansen, siblings-in-law, Karen Lynn Johnson and Christopher Michael Jansen.
Per Alfred’s wishes, he was cremated, and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
