Aaron L Pace, age 82, of Roosevelt, passed away September 13, 2026 in Vernal, Utah.
Aaron was born and raised on the CedarView Family Ranch in Cedarview, Utah, on September 30, 1943, to Daniel Sweeney Pace and Erma Labrum Pace. The ranch, which his parents established, was a place where hard work, horses, and open country were a way of life. He attended Union High School, where he graduated and played basketball and baseball on the school teams, spending as much time on the court and field as he could.
In 1964, Aaron married Carol Ann Burdick. During their marriage, he worked in a Gilsonite, mine, and they welcomed a daughter, Lisa Ann, and a son, Danny J. His first two children, Lisa and Danny, were a blessing in his life, and he was proud of the family that began with them. Aaron and Carol later divorced.
Aaron later married Marie Bowen, and together they welcomed a son, Chance. During this time, Aaron also welcomed Marie’s daughter, Angie, as his own. After Aaron and Marie divorced, the shape of those relationships changed, but the years they spent building that family were an important chapter in his life.
Later in life, Aaron became partners with Karma Hunt, who, along with her children, Trever Hunt and Victoria Bumganer, became an important part of his life. Karma was by his side for the last 30 years of his life until her passing. During those years together, Aaron worked as a park ranger, a job that let him live in the wide-open spaces he loved instead of just visiting them. He also became a very accomplished golfer and designed and built the back nine at the Roosevelt Golf Course, leaving a permanent mark on a place that felt like home.
Aaron was happiest outdoors and on the move. Over the years, he could be found riding horses, racing stock cars, golfing, and finding any excuse to be outside. He loved being there for his grandchildren at their sporting events, cheering them on from the sidelines the same way he once played on the court and field himself.
Aaron leaves behind a legacy of grit, hard work, and a fierce love for the outdoors and his family. From the mines to the mountains, the ball fields to the horse pastures, and the golf course he helped build, he lived wide open and on his own terms, doing the things he loved and standing by the people who mattered to him.
Aaron is survived by his children, Lisa Ann McDonald, Danny J (Shaylene) Pace, and Chance (Sabrina) Pace, as well as Karma’s children, Trever Hunt and Victoria Bumgarner, whom he loved as part of his extended family. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews who will miss his presence and his stories.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel Sweeney Pace and Erma Labrum Pace; his sisters, Clea (Ray) Crow and Dawn (Fred) Brown; his long-time partner, Karma Hunt; his stepdaughter, Angie; and his son-in-law, Jon Earl McDonald.
