Toni Rae Ames, age 55, of Hancock Cove, passed away October 4, 2017, at her home after a long battle with cancer.
She was born May 7, 1962, in Rangely, Colorado, to Max Leon Ross and Vicki Jo McCoy.  She married Derk Ray Eldredge and they later divorced.  She married Andrew “Bear” Ames, on November 2, 2001, in Ioka.
Toni was a loving person who cared for people, animals, and plants alike.  She helped anyone and everyone, often putting their needs before her own.  She had even brought a hawk from the brink of death.
She began an apparel and skateboard shop, “In The Zone”, and operated it from 2006-2012.  She was instrumental in getting the skate park in Roosevelt up and running.   She was a woman of all trades and had a great fondness for her blue Buick Skyhawk.  She was into natural healing practices and had been certified in the “Body Talk System” which uses systematic tapping on the body to help promote healthy living.  She was a talented woodworker.
Toni is survived by her husband, Bear, of Hancock Cove; children, Tanya Rae Eldredge, Ballard; Tyler Ray (Megan Priebe) Eldredge, Roosevelt; adopted children, Atissa (Kenneth) Bennett, Corbett Sather; grandchildren, Gabrial, Dominic, Travin, & Darius Eldredge; Luke, Devan, Kyri, & Kayli Bennett; parents Leon (Teri Lee) Ross, Hancock Cove; Vicki Russell, Grand Junction; brothers and sisters, Karen White, Hancock Cove; Willie Ross, Theresa (Brian) Hodges, both of Grand Junction; LouAnn (Danny) Hayes, Hancock Cove; Tammy Jo Russell, Grand Junction; Sheri (Randy) Gurr, Hancock, Cove; her dogs, Sicily, Tennie Ray, SyBerryAnn, & Nugent; her horses, Jesus, Jasper, Hidalgo, & Daisy Mae; her turtles, Jack & Jill; and she got Crabs at Rock Jam.
She was preceded in death by her son, Thomas Ray McCoy “Tomy” Eldredge, step-father, Bill Russell; ex-husband, Derk Eldredge; all of her grandparents; and her dog, Mewchie.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Friday, October 13, at her home in Hancock Cove, 899 S. 4000 W., Roosevelt, Utah.  The family asks that you bring your best story of Toni and come in your Halloween costumes. If you have any questions, call Bear at 435-823-5659.
