Serena Christina Nannatz Blain, age 52, of Salt Lake City, formerly of Ft. Duchesne, passed away June 14, 2017, at the Avalon Valley Care Center in Salt Lake City.
She was born June 7, 1965, in Roosevelt, to Ezelda Nannatz. She married Ronald Blain and he later died.
Serena was a free spirit who was always moving from place to place, and collecting stuffed animals. She suffered many years with various mental and physical illnesses, but she was always a funny and comical person.
Serena is survived by a son, Todd Minnett, Houston; her relatives, Angel (Lloyd) Kane, Angelo Checora, Cheron (Wendell, Sr.) Navanick, all of Ft. Duchesne; Tylynne, Sarah, Angelica, & Tia Kane; Samantha, Ankerpont; Elijah Checora, Tikari Roe; Avery, Emilio, Cory, Kolden, Ariel, Angelo Jr. , Chasity, Ty, Brandy, Joe, Wendellena, & Ace Navanick; Lorena Writingbird, Ernest Chapoose, Linda Moya, Tina Moya, Denise Serawop Curry; Nyhree Curry; Rikki Wilkerson, Richard Curry, Jr., Kenton, Karlis, Cheree, Chalin, & Kayleigh Sowsonicut, and many other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her son, Juan Appawoo; brother, Alfred Nannatz; mother, Ezelda; grandparents, Minnie & George Nannatz, Freda Nannatz, & Nancy Moya.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, June 17, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. at the Ft. Duchesne Cemetery.
There will be a wake on Friday after 4:00 p.m. at the home of Angel & Lloyd Kane in Ft. Duchesne.
