QUINA QUILT
Joaquina Michelle “Quina” Quilt, age 38, of Portland, Oregon, formerly of Fort Duchesne, passed away April 17, 2018 in Portland.
She was born April 11, 1980 in Roosevelt to Michael and Cheryle Avis Myore Quilt.
Quina was a unique spirit.  She had her own way of doing things, of which caused her to be misunderstood, but she went about her way all the same.  Quina was a fighter.  She overcame a lot of obstacles in her life, as well as she achieved.  She didn’t let the struggle get her down or stop her from living life.  She loved to joke and laugh with everyone.  Quina made long-lasting impressions on all she met.  She was loved and will be missed by many.
Quina attended middle and high school in this area and also attended Riverside Indian School, Sherman Indian School and Chemawa Indian School.  It was Chemawa that introduced Quina to her love of Oregon where she made her home.
Quina was a caring and loving mother to her children.  She was raised by her grandmother, Virginia Duncan in Fort Duchesne.
She is survived by her children, Virtonio Nakai, of Clearfield; Quentin Quilt, Tridell; Trigger Quilt, and Dozianic John, both Roosevelt; sister, Maleana Stonecalf (Marthaniel Kanuho), brothers, Thomas Myore (Krista Kanuho) and Clinton Duncan (Ricki Tabbee); nieces and nephews, Qualyn, Nachele, Stoney, Sani, Ty, Takara, Neva, and Trycion.
She was preceded in death by her parents, grandmother, Virginia Myore Duncan, uncles Robert Jack, Sr, and Tyrone Myore and aunt Maxine Penningjack and countless others.
She will be taken to the home of Thomas Myore, in the Richardson Subdivision, Saturday at 4 PM for a wake, which will conclude at the home on Sunday.  She will then be cremated.
