Helen Edna (Moeller) Park

October 11, 1940 ~ August 28, 2018 (age 77)

Helen Edna Moeller Park, age 77, of Duchesne, Utah, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on August 28, 2018, after a valiant battle with cancer.
She was born on October 11, 1940, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Henry William Moeller and Elsa Hildegard Wegel. She grew up in Salt Lake City and graduated from Granite High School where she met and married her eternal companion, Clinton Dennis Park. They were married on August 16, 1961, in the Salt Lake City Temple.
She held many different jobs including elevator operator, switchboard operator, secretary, and dispatcher. The one she found the most joy in was her recent position as an assistant secretary at Duchesne Elementary School.
Helen lived a life of service. She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints where she served in the Relief Society, Young Womens and Primary at the ward and stake level. Helen and Clint served a mission for the church for 4 summers from 2011 to 2014, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, at the Taylorview Welfare Farm. During their time there they loved to go to Chukkars baseball games and the farmers market. Helen loved to do family history and especially loved indexing where she completed over 1,000 records.
She was a devoted member of the Duchesne Lions Club for 30 years which gave her many opportunities to serve the community. She had a way of making everyone feel like they were the most important thing to her. Doors were always open, there was no stranger. Mom loved traveling with dad, baking, eating popcorn and ice cream, cooking Dutch oven chicken at the county fair, and gleaning potatoes. She was not afraid to work and would jump right in and help no matter the task. She was always the first to volunteer and was a big pushover for her grandkids.
Helen never raised her voice, loved roses and always had a beautiful yard, and she also really loved Christmas lights. She was thoughtful, a peacemaker, had the patience of a saint, always had a listening ear, and was a little sassy even until the end.
Helen is survived by her husband Clinton; children, Jamie Park, both of Duchesne; Dennis (RaeLynn) Park, Taylorsville; Christine (Todd) Smith, Duchesne; Susanne (Thomas) Spencer, Orem; Gregory Park, Pleasant Grove; 18 grandkids, 10 great grandkids and her brother Steven (Patty) Moeller of Sandy.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother William.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 1, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at the Duchesne Stake Center of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where a viewing will be held on Friday from 6-8 p.m and on Saturday from 9:30-10:45 a.m.
Burial will be in the Duchesne City Cemetery.
