Donna Todd Buchanan, age 87, of Roosevelt, passed away November 9, 2019, at an assisted living center in Layton.
She was born July 30, 1932, in Roosevelt, to Thomas Richardson and Cora Powell Todd. She married John Rollin Buchanan on December 5, 1952, in the Salt Lake Temple. He died October 3, 2009.
Donna was a very outgoing and kind person who enjoyed gardening, making her yard beautiful, keeping her home well kept, cooking and making sure everyone was well fed – no one left her home hungry. She was an excellent crocheter, quilter, and card player, her favorites being “Hand and Foot” and “May I” – and when she kept score, she always won! She adored her grandchildren and supported them in everything they did whether it was sports, performances, or other activities. She liked to travel and had even taken a cross country trip by train that she thoroughly enjoyed.
She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held various callings. She found great joy in singing in choirs – for the ward, stake, or the temple. She was an ordinance worker in the Vernal Temple for over 16 years.
Donna is survived by her children, Julia (Rudy) Monsen, Altamont; Shauna (Perry) Peacock, Mt. Pleasant; Sherrie Cope, Bountiful; Rosalie (Richard) Plummer, Grass Valley, California; Rolene (Dan) Croft, Layton; Donald (Stacy) Buchanan, Dallas, Texas; 48 grandchildren, 123 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild; siblings, Arvil Walker, Layton; Velma Frandsen, Roosevelt; Carol Carlson, South Jordan; Scott (Susie) Todd, Las Vegas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John; infant twin sons, Todd D and Todd R Buchanan; a granddaughter, Trudy Suzette Monsen; and siblings, Marvin Todd, Sherrill Todd, and Alice Olsen
