Eugenia Pickup

Our wonderful mother, grandmother, and friend Eugenia Brough Pickup passed from this life on June 10, 2016 at the Uintah Basin Rehabilitation and Sr. Villa.
Eugenia was born December 14, 1918 in Lapoint, Utah to Jesse Samuel and Luella Nebeker Brough. She married Grant Pickup August 20, 1938 in Vernal, Utah. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on September 23, 1960. He died March 3, 2006. Grant and Eugenia had two children, Shirley and Pauline.
Though limited by dementia in her later years, she remained happy and content. We are so proud of the life she lived and the legacy she left
Eugenia served faithfully in many positions for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She served as Relief Society president in the Avalon and Ballard wards, a Relief Society counselor in the Neola ward, and a secretary in the Roosevelt, Utah West Stake Relief Society presidency. She was a Young Women's president in the Avalon ward as well. She was a wonderful teacher and organist, and shared these talents with others throughout her life. She had a strong testimony of the gospel.
Grant and Eugenia owned and operated the Randlett Mercantile for 35 Years where Eugenia served as postmistress of the Randlett post office for 32 years. She received many honors for her years of service in the post office.
She had a great desire to continue learning new things, and spent time taking classes in religion and other topics that were of interest to her.
Eugenia was preceded in death by her husband Grant; brothers: Myron Brough, Donald Brough, George Brough, John Garr Brough, Richard Grant Brough, Robert Brough, Dee Brough, and Gilbert Brough; Sisters: Nellie Harris, Donna Pickup, and Bonnie Lou Brough; and son-in-law Larry Norton.
