Arthur Fabrizio

Arthur Fabrizio, age 89, of Vernal, passed away on Monday, June 13, 2016 at his home surrounded by family.
He was born July 8, 1926 in Hanna to Charlie and Rosie Defa Fabrizio.
Art grew up in Hanna where he learned to work alongside his dad at the family sawmill and farm. He married his high school sweet heart, Jean Gines on June 1, 1945 in Duchesne. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She died November 3, 2004.
During his life Art worked in the tunnels building many here in the basin and in Washington DC. Whe they left the farm in Hanna they bought a motel in Duchesne where he put his heart and soul into making it nice and look just right. When they sold the motel they moved to Roosevelt where he bought a crude and water truck and worked in the oil field. In 1986 they moved to Vernal where he felt at home and was very happy. The kids told them that was the last move and they couldn't go across the state line. He loved working around his house and never wanted to leave the Vernal area. He drove the Senior Citizen bus for the Golden Age Center and loved caring for the people he served. He cleaned Wendy's Restaurant for many years getting up in the middle of the night. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He loved the temple and being near it. He was a faithful home teacher and it was important to him to have a current temple recommend. He was faithful in serving in whatever calling he had at the time.
Art was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather who loved his family very much. He would always take his kids and grandkids with him to work or play. He loved hunting, cutting wood, and being in the outdoors with his family. He could tell you stories true and false about almost anything and all the grandkids loved to hear him tell about his life and legacy. He took pride in his home and yard, keeping it groomed even if it took the help of his sheep. Later in his life when he couldn't get out as much he loved for his family to come to his house and visit him. The first thing he would say when you came to his house was do you want something to eat or are you hungry? He would often say are you going to stay with me tonight or when will you be back to see me? In the days before he passed his house was full of his family and it made him truly happy.
Arthur is survived by his children, Danny (Carole) Fabrizio, Max (Valona) Fabrizio, both of Hanna; Brad (Terry) Fabrizio, Heber City; Jill (Ralph) Stansfield, Tal (Debbie) Fabrizio, both of Duchesne; Jayne (Kerry) Batchelor, Riverton, WY; 25 grandchildren, 85 great grandchildren with 3 on the way, and 6 great-great grandchildren with 3 on the way. Also survived by his brother, Neil (Carma) Fabrizio, Bountiful; his sweet aunt, Tracy Roberts, Hanna; sisters-in-law, Flora Fabrizio and Myrna Goodrich.
He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, two grandsons, Moral Max Fabrizio, Landon Dean Fabrizio, brothers, Tom, Delbert, Dwight and Dwayne Fabrizio, and in-laws, Moral and Theo Gines.
A special thanks to Dr. Parker and the Good Shepherd Hospice, Kim Caron and Kaytia Madsen.
