Sherry Lynn Springer, age 62, of Roosevelt, passed away May 19, 2017, at the Uintah Basin Sr. Villa after many years of health complications.
She was born November 1, 1954, in Provo, to Charles William and Mary Jane Kelsey Springer. She married George Alan Scott and they later divorced.
Sherry worked for over 15 years as a Maintenance Administrator for Qwest telephone company. She was an excellent baker, her specialty being cinnamon rolls and cakes decorated in any theme desired. She was a talented seamstress and sewed many quilts and western clothing. After her first round of chemo-therapy, she was unable to return to work, so she spent her time making baby quilts and donating them to Primary Children’s Hospital. She was very proud of being able to donate her hair to “Locks of Love”.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She loved her family and will be dearly missed.
Sherry is survived by her children, Christopher Ryan (KamiLyn) Scott, Payson; Andrea (Bert) Yang, Kearns; grandchildren, Slayter, Teagan & MaKaylie Leifson; Aspyn, Asia, & Avaya Yang; parents, Mary & Charles Springer, Roosevelt; siblings, Steven (Daphne) Springer, Globe, AZ; Mark (Teri) Springer, Roosevelt; Charles “Chuck” Springer, Jr., Heber City; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Phillip Springer.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 25, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at the Roosevelt LDS Stake Center, 447 East Lagoon Street where a viewing will be from 9:30-10-45 a.m.
Burial will be in the Lapoint Cemetery.
