William Scott Nickell, age 83, passed away on December 14, 2017 in Salt Lake City , Utah at the Intermountain Medical Center.
Scott was born March 30, 1934 to Nedra Stone Nickell and Howard Lynn Nickell in Roosevelt.  Scott was the second of four kids, older brother Brent, younger brother Kenny and sister Barcy.
Scott worked as a concrete finisher for 57 years. For Scott, his word was everything. He prided himself on doing the absolute best job possible and always for the agreed upon price. No one was allowed to pay him more or less. Scott’s trademark was to leave a nickel in the concrete after he finished a job. He often joked that if he went around town and collected all of those nickels he would be rich.
He enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting and Diet Pepsi. Camping, fishing and hunting were really just excuses for Scott to tell stories about past adventures and eat candy.
In May 1958 he married his life long love Mona Allred. Together they raised four children, Cindy Nickell, Mike Nickell, Lou Ann Hansen and Will Nickell.
Scott is survived by his wife Mona Nickell; children Mike Nickell, Lou Ann (Kirk) Hansen, Will (Mindy) Nickell; brother Ken (Darlene) Nickell, sister Barcy (Jake) Burns. Many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 23, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Roosevelt Stake Center.  Viewings will be held on Friday evening at the Hullinger Mortuary from 6 - 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9:30 - 10:45 a.m.
Burial in the Maeser Fairview Cemetery.
