Ruby Alice Penfold Justice, age 99, of Roosevelt, passed away May 18, 2017, surrounded by family.
She was born September 7, 1917, in Dale Creek, Wyoming. She was the daughter of Walter Eugene and Charlene Longacre Penfold. She was raised in her favorite place: a ranch in Deep Creek. She could often be found on the back of a horse, herding sheep with her favorite dog, Patty.
Ruby married Weston Harrison Justice on November 25, 1936, in Vernal. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Weston, who passed away on January 15, 1979. They were later sealed for eternity on May 3, 1980, in the Provo LDS Temple. She lived a long, healthy, and fulfilled life and loved being with her family especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a faithful member of the LDS Church and spent countless hours doing genealogy. She also loved gardening, farm work, horses, and other animals.
Ruby is survived by her sons, Allen (LaRae) Justice, Vernal; Thomas (Carolyn) Justice, Roosevelt; 16 grandchildren, 68 great-grandchildren, 33 great-great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Vona Walker, Ballard; Chauncy Penfold, Louisiana; Feza Hullinger, Vernal; Lola Clark, Roosevelt; Rose Anderson, Texas; Everett (LaVerne) Penfold, Washington; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Charlene; daughter, Alice Ward Hullinger; son-in-law, Terry A. Ward; grandson, Jerry Allen Justice; great-granddaughter, Shancie Rae Warby; and a brother, Lyle W. Penfold.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 26, 2017, at 1:00 p.m., at the Lapoint LDS Chapel, 6877 South 10600 East, Lapoint. There will be a viewing on Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at the Hullinger Mortuary, 457 East 300 North, and on Friday from 12-12:45 p.m. at the church.
Burial will be in the Lapoint Cemetery.
